We were all looking forward to the trip to Buzios; we'd heard many a good story about the place they call the Cancun of South America and Si's Rio for Partiers book said a trip there was a "must do experience". And with a name like Buzios we expected the next few days to be not much more than booze booze booze. Ideal we thought for this Brazil boys holiday. However, Buzios didn't deliver what we expected. In high season and around carnival I can imagine the town being packed with people and there being a good nightlife vibe, but when we arrived there was tumbleweed passing through the streets. Well, not quite, but the town was fairly quiet to say the least. Not to worry we thought, its sure to pick up as we get closer to the weekend. And sure enough it did get busier, but nothing like what we expected. The pousada we were staying in seemed ideal value for money though so we were happy there; we'd manage to turn the dorm with separate double room and hall into three separate rooms with double beds, spot on we thought. Then came the day when there was no water in the building; by the end of it our toilet was challenging a T in the Park portaloo, just not nice. So after a few days in Buzios we were ready to getaway and thought we'd head back to Rio, the city that will never disappoint, for Ben's last night in Brazil.
