A new day, a new time zone. Crossing the border meant losing some hours. It is quite strange because when you cross a particular point the time magically changes. We woke early due to a thunder and lightning show but only a limited amount of rain. When it rains in caravan parks its really funny because everyone (men) rushes outside and begins cleaning their cars and caravans.
We went into town and had a coffee to see what there is to do in Ceduna. I received some dirty looks from the Tourist Information Centre lady when I took a phone call from work. I tried to go out in the car park but the door was locked.
Ceduna is the self proclaimed oyster capital of Australia. I think Coffin Bay say the same thing but I'll go with Ceduna as they have the OysterFest. We went Baldy's Fish Bar to get some oysters. Baldy wasn't bald in fact he had a mullet, tatts and earrings galore. However, he was NICEST man in the world. He gave all us oysters to sample (you should have seen Emmy and Chlo's faces) and some some shark off cuts for us to use crabbing.
Back at the caravan park the girls meet two girls (9 and 11) from Queensland doing the whole if Australia. They spent the afternoon playing and just hanging out.
Despite the wind we went crabbing with our new net. We caught heaps of smaller ones that were released but we also got a couple of really nice Blue Swimmers. We also landed a couple of squid and had a great time on the jetty. Sometimes the simple things are the best. I googled how to cook crabs and boiled them up for tomorrow.
