After Exmouth we were not sure what to expect at the small town of Coral Bay. We had a big breakfast of pancakes to begin the day. During breakfast we were joined by six different types of birds. The seagulls were most evident and in Exmouth are extremely confident and aggressive no doubt due to Darwin's survival of the fittest theory. The emu was arrogant, the cockatoos annoying and destructive (one even had the audacity to land on Terry) and the others were just hanging around waiting for scraps.
Coral Bay is a two drive to the south but a world away in terms of a holiday destination. Driving into Coral Bay conjures up thoughts of Fiji or some other exotic location. There isn't much in the way of facilities but there is enough and the bay is amazing. Ningaloo Reef is virtually on your doorstep. Both caravan parks are a short walk from everything. We checked in to the People's Caravan Park on a huge site with good facilities.
We set up and hit the beach to do some snorkelling across the road. The fish were incredible although the view below was a little cloudy due the strong wind. We spent the afternoon at the beach after a coffee of course and I made my famous steak burgers for tea. We had to have tea inside due to the strong gale blowing.
Chloe and I have picked up head colds almost as soon as we stopped using the air con at nights. The temperature here is 31 degrees and just perfect.
