Our last day in Broome and it was time for Terry Territory to get a service. I dropped him off at 8.00 am and he wasn't finished until 4.00 pm and I had to ring them - Broome time (or taking it slow) definitely exists. I ran back to the caravan park only six kilometres away but it was 34 degrees already.
We enjoyed some pool time in the morning and had coffee and pancakes at a resort restaurant. It was good to be in the lap of luxury for a short time!
Broome is a tourist town and has been one of our favourite places. The caravan park was good but it definitely had maintenance issues. The BBQs were not fixed for the week, giant kid swallowing pot holes were evident and there were very smelly rubbish bins.
One thing we observed in Broome is that when you have a garage sale you are not allowed to stick up any advertising on signposts so you make a poster and attach to a weighted cardboard box and place it on a roundabout.
We completed our pack up at night to beat the heat. At Broome I finally bought a hose bag for the grey water hose which is notoriously difficult to wind up. Emmy was very impressed and commented "Dad it's the first time you have put the hose away without swear, swear!" A slight exaggeration on her behalf but the hose bag was great and I am a convert.
An early night for a big drive tomorrow.
