I began the day with a run along Cable Beach at 5.00am to appreciate the serenity of it all. The Cable Beach Caravan Park has been a great choice because it has a very large pool and good showers. In fact they are the Taj Mahal of showers with three hanging hooks, rubber mats, good water pressure, shelving and plenty of space. Also at long last the shower section is separated from the toilets which is so much quieter (men can be particularly noisy). It was also the first time in weeks I wasn't sweating straight after a shower. It is the busiest park we have been in so far and Emmy has made a friend. Our next door neighbours of two adults and two young children are interesting and are having some moments with plenty of screaming and yelling.
We wandered around Broome market. Not quite the Belmont market but there were plenty of things to look at. Chloe learnt a valuable lesson about always asking how much something is worth before buying it. The mango smoothie was an expensive $9.50!
We then went on the Pearl Luggers Tour to learn all about the pearling industry in Broome. The host was a Scottish backpacker who was absolutely brilliant and the best tour guide we have seen and heard on the trip. Both girls got to wear a $9000 necklace and hold a large pearl worth $100 000. Kelli was really nervous about them holding it. Afterwards we had a swim at Cable Beach. Emmy only lasted five minutes until she was stung by a jellyfish of some description. She was screaming "I have flames on my arm!" The lifesaver poured some vinegar over the wound and gave her a chunk of ice to numb the area. After a few hours it settled down but it was very painful.
