I adored Laos. It was one of the most laid bak, pleaseant and relaxing places I have ever experienced.  The locals I met were sublime, the scenery gorgeous and that Laos pace....just great.  I could write pages and pages, but since I know nobody really reads it, I don't bother.  But you should make Laos a place to go before you give up on life.  It something to offer everyone.

With that, it was a 4 hour bus journey to the Thailand/Laos border, otherwise known as the Mekong River....
