Up early, which was surprising considering our late night.  After breakfast at the hostel we went to check out the old Jewish area of Kazimierz.  On this bright Sunday morning it was a mix of large tourist groups and local markets, of which we took a quick trip around.  Not being in need of knocked off shoes, we didn't spend too long there.  We wondered more streets, browsing in the Synagogues and Churches, then Helen went to a museum.  Meanwhile, I sat outside and fell asleep under a tree.  I'm a disgrace.

From here we crossed the Wisla River, and explored the area of Podgorze - the old Jewish Ghetto.  Part of the original wall still stands, so we went to check that out.  Nearby was the site of Oscar Schindler's Factory, which for anyone too ignorant to put two and two together, is what Schindler's List was all about.  Not seen it?  You fool.  Go watch it now.  Then don't forget the message.

I was too knackered to want to walk back to the old town, so we jumped on a tram.  The queue for the ticket machine on the tram was so long that by the stop we wanted, we hadn't paid still.  Naughty.  Don't tell anyone though, yeah?  We got off the tram well before the old town though, in a non touristy part of town, which we liked a lot.  It's good to push yourself, be out of your depth. Saying that, it was hardly the wilds of Papua New Guinea. We stumbled on an old Milk Bar - very cheap food places introduced in the Communist era, of which few still exist.  The food is good too.

Some time later, back in the old town, we did more of the same - wondering around.  Back at the Hostel I booked myself on a trip to Auschwitz for the next day.  We also booked another tour, this time to visit the Communist built town of Nowa Huta on the outskirts of Krakow, again for the next day.
