So my whilst most of the clan decided to sit by the Pool and burn, I managed to convince my Mum and Bro that Kuta is worth a look around.  Heck, they had been to Ibiza enough times, and there are few places worse than San Antonio, Ibiza!

To save on the boredom of everything we did, in a nutshell we walked down the beach, around all the Gangs, looked in various little shops and stalls, taught my Mum how to haggle, taught my Brother that foreign people are not scary, and after some lunch we stumbled upon a Tattoo Parlour that I had been checking out a day or two before.  Cut short, two hours later I was laying on a bed getting tattooed, my Mum and Bro long gone back to the Hotel.  In total, it took 6.5 hours to do, which included a quick break for all involved.  Not used to Tattooists buying me some dinner, but no complaints from me!  It's not a huge tattoo, but it took so long because there was a fair bit of thick, black areas to fill in, and you need to constantly go over it to avoid it looking shit when it's finished.  I can hand on heart say it was the most painful thing I've ever experienced.  I don't say that lightly, as someone who was both nipples pierced and 12 other tattoos.  Darrens tip: tattoos on the ribs hurt.

I got a free lift off the artist back to the hotel too, on the back of his scooter.  It was quite nice being outside again, whizzing amongst the cars and people.  He gave me a little tour too, showing me some Ladyboys, decent places to get pirated DVDs, and a cool, relaxed bar.  Top one lads!  I heartily recommend Rosemarie's Tattoo  in Kuta.
