What can I say?.bit of a culture shock Im afriad. They put their kids in cages and pull them by donkey to take them to school. The streets are mad, traffic lights are totally meaningless and cows take priority. The flight was ok but I couldn't believe where the hotel is. It came highly recommended and I must admit once inside your very well looked after but once you step out the door its bedlam. There are no real streets, just dusty tracks and wild am\nimal running round. People lighting fires in the street at night with sheets round them to keep warm. I cant take any pictures as it just wouldn't be appropriate. I do have a few as took a tuk tuk ride from hell into the main area which looks like a demolition site. Met some student guy w\and we sat oni the grass in the park helping him speak and write english. It kept the dodgy people away anyway and he was genuine even with his dictionaries and Im sure he'll get an A grade as Ive just done his homework. I cant upload any photos yet as the PCs here are crap....not even sure I can send an email or save this yet! I have a car picking me up tomorrow at 7am to take me to Agra to the Taj Mahal, but Ive just ehard it's a 10 hour round trip on bumpy dirt tracks but you are very well looked after the people cant do enough to help, especially after I tipped the porter a quid which is probably a weeks wage. Stuff is basically almost free, just a few pence for a coke etc but it comes in a dirty dusty old bottle. The crsips in my room were a year out of date but I risked them anyway. Breakfast was good, 70 pence well spent and Im going to try a korma later and have an early night as my body clock is a little out as you can imagine.
The Taj Mahal will be great tomorrow if not for the long ride, and then to Tokyo Thursday over night which again will be a totally different world. I worried when I first arrived, didn't leave the hotel until after 2 until I got the courage to venture out but once I did it was fine, just takes a little getting used to. Its just very poor and you've got to feel sorry for them. Theres an accident every minute on the roads but it moves so slow its like falluing off your bike. I wont write too much in case this wont send and theres 10 people behind me trying to read it so Im off for that korma now and a quite night ready for tomorrow. The hotel have offered me a private tour of all the temples etc on Thursday before I leave for about 8 quid for a full day with driver and guide so Ill probably take it.
MSN doent work and theres definitely no chance of a wifi zone, I think sewage coming out the taps is the best could be hoped for here. I wouldn't advise it for a holiday. Ill upload pics at the weekend from Japan.
