7th Atlantic Park

We had a really stormy night last night and the day did not get much better. Kim tried to get in a boxing session but everytime she started it started to rain! No surf as the waves were just mush.  Mid afternoon we got a visit from Joe and Em who we had met in Marrakesh.  They were staying at the other Atlantica Park – where nearly all 790 spots were occupied.  No chance of us finding them up there!  We agreed to meet tomorrow for a surf and the girls could hang out.

8th Atlantic Park

Perfect day today and the waves were good.  I went surfing with Joe at Hotel Point. The waves were fast and hollow. We both pulled into several barrels but didn't manage to make the exit. Although I came close on one in particular and this German surfer paddled over to tell me it looked awesome and he could see me in there for a good 4-5 seconds. It may not sound like long if you don't surf but trust me when you’re in there it feels like ages and very cool indeed!! After several hours we needed food so we hoped out and had a feed then got back in the water.  This time Kim got the camera out and took some good shots of us surfing.  Where we parked lots of local boys came to hang out and chat with travellers but also in hope of getting pens, food or anything really.  Kim gave them some pens as we had heaps of them.  She was then given the thumbs up by the boys and Em got the thumbs down as she had nothing to give.  Towards sundown more boys came  and were getting cold as they were in shorts and tshirts so Kim gave them a few of the jumpers Val he mum had left behind.  More thumbs up for Kim.

Joe and I finally got out of the water at sundown and Kim was starving so we headed into Banana Village for Tarjine and cous cous. It was good but not as the one in Essouria.

9th Atlantic Park

Another  great day of surfing with Joe at the same spot as yesterday. Tonight Kim cooked her first tarjine – Turkey and veg and we used the fajita mix we made so it had a nice kick.  The turkey fell apart in our mouths and the vegs were delicious.  I am sure tarjines will become a staple.

10th Atlantic Park

Joe and Em headed south today probably join them in a week as we just wanted to stay in one spot for a little while and also the surf looked good here so why leave?!  I got a good surf out at Banana Point J

When I got back from surfing and Kim had been invited to join Martin and Carmel next door for drinks (they started at 12!) and a late lunch.  No sooner had I arrived I had a beer waiting for me and a lovely spread too.  The late afternoon drifted into the evening and we ended up at their friends Brendon and Pats who owned a camper mansion across the way from us.

11th Atltantic Park

Surfing and chores we the order of the day.  Our travel and car insurance were both due to expire on the 19th January as originally we thought outhe UK trip we end then and we woudl fly to Africa.  Not now as we were enjoying Scooby life too much.  We extended both until mid April as we should be back in the UK by then.

12th Atlantic Park

I got a solid 4 hour surf today - my surfing fitness has improved dramatically as only a few weeks ago I could only last 1 to 1.5 hours in the water - pretty chuffed!  Met a few Italian guys out in the surf who we bumped into later and found out their car had been broken into while they were out surfing - reminded us not to become to complacent!  Kim has caught Joe's head cold and has been lying low for a few days - poor Kimmy!!!

Cheers.
