After travelling approx. 20,000km with the Russian railways it was nice to take a break and experience "relative" luxury on the Swedish railways. On the Russian railways something called a shower has not yet been invented so passengers have to forgo these sorts of luxuries for up to one week (now imagine that when you're stuck sweating all day, everyday, in a compartment). Anyway after taking a nice shower I was able to role into a comfortable ready-made upper bunk with a chain to prevent me from rolling off the bed and falling down 2 meters below (unlike on the Russian railways). After I solid rest, I woke up early the next morning expecting to be woken up by an angry conductor demanding the sheets back 1 1/2 hours before the train was scheduled to arrive. Somehow this didn't happen and the only announcement of the train's arrival was made 20 minutes prior to arriving in the station. The Swedish train was, however, 1 hour late, unlike the Russian trains, which run amazingly on time. Of course the Swedish trains lacked random people in the compartment sharing stories about the merits of the "old system" and their homemade food, so I guess both railways have their advantages :-)

Late but comfortable.
That berth looks very comfortable indeed.
