It took us longer than we thought to get to San Sebastian due to slow roads through Biarritz. It was a nice drive in warm sunshine passing lots of green fields.
We arrived around 4.30pm. Our room gave us a lovely view of the bay, the expansive deep blue ocean and the two islands in Concha bay.
We caught the funicular down and then walked into town. The beach was just an umbrella city with thousands of people soaking up the sun.
It was still warm at 7.30 and I was getting a suntan as my shins caught the evening sun under the table at the restaurant we chose for dinner. We had two salads and beers and while the service was lousy the view was great over the bay.
Walked up the long windy road back to our hotel and had a bottle of red on the veranda and sorted out our gear.
Went down for a tea for old time's sake.
