We followed the coast around the south shore from Shelburne to Digby via Yarmouth. First stop was at Tim Hortons for a coffee and doughnut to get started. Followed the 101 for a while and then moved onto the coast road. This area was more open and certainly had more houses along the road.

We took a side trip into Yarmouth but decided not to stop but to head down the coast and look for a peaceful picnic stop. Finally decided on a quiet stretch of beach which was great for a quick lunch and a chance to walk along the beach and get our feet wet. Passed a small village called Pleasantville on the way and realised I should have taken a photo and printed it in black and white.

Arrived in Digby and decided to have a drink at a nearby pub and enjoy the sunny view across the Bay of Fundy - the largest tidal range in the world here. When we arrived at our B&B, which was an 18th century house (one of the oldest in the town) we were greeted by our host who showed us around the property which he had restored over the years. A chance then for a glass of beer and wine while sitting on the veranda and looking out across the bay. The owners of the B&B also had a restaurant in the town which was the number 1 place to eat according to Trip advisor so off we went and we were not disappointed - excellent home cooked fresh seafood and vegetables with excellent service. The owners also had a large RV so I had a chance to ask a few questions about fuel economy and prices to help plan our long trip across America if we get the chance.

Hopefully tomorrow we will get a chance to see some whales as this is the season and the humpbacks are in the bay.
