We woke up in our train car rested and hungry. After a shower (hot water ran out on BJ) we headed over to the dining car for a great breakfast of banana/strawberry french toast raindeer sausage and cheese eggs. We said our goodbyes to the owner and made plans to stay on our return from the arctic. On the way out of Fairbanks we stopped at another unique place for a lunch beer. "Skinny Dicks Half-Way Inn" there are really no words tod escribe this saloon other than awesome!! drove the rest of the way to Denali checked in at the park office and made our way to our campsite at Savage River. We setup camp made dinner, mac anc cheese with bacon bits in it and sage garlic toast. the skys started clearing and there it was, all 20,000 feet if it, Mt. McKinley. The white peaks soared upwards far above the green of the tree line. While I was setting up the camera a Snowshoe Rabbit hopped up within feet of where I was standing and stood on his hind legs as if to pose. We took our pictures and headed back to camp to turn in.
