Whoa, what a scorcher today. It was mid-nineties and was humid too. I rode 55 miles and Dan rode 65 miles. (He rode into town to buy a few beers) We got up just before 6am and were on the road by about 7:30am. We got about 30 miles in before 11am, which was good due to the heat. However, at about mile 45, I was crashing. As luck would have it, we had a break scheduled for mile 47 and there was a public pool there for us to swim in. We jumped in in our clothes and cooled off for about 10 minutes. That was just enough to get us/me to the end of the ride. We pulled in to the Nasereth College around 3pm. There were many towns/sites to see along the way today. The towns are very small and don't require a lot of time or effort to see all it has to offer. They are very quaint; just don't provide a lot of services.
Sleeping was much better last night without the freight train and fire station nearby that we had in Buffalo. However, about 2pm a massive tornado-like storm passed through which was blowing the roof of the tent all over the place. Eventually, the noise became part of my dreams and I did get some sleep.
Tonight, I'm not holding out much hope for sleep. The Nasereth College has a very beautiful campus with a beautiful church on the grounds. The church plays loud bells every ½ hour to mark the time. Nice to look at but I wouldn't want to live here.
Hopefully we get a break in the weather soon, this heat kills me. We have 63 miles scheduled for tomorrow.
