Howdy folks,

Well yesterday we left Death Valley at 9am, had a quick stop at Dante's View looking over Badwater Basin and then travelled via the Walmart at Pahrump to the bright lights of Las Vegas. The drive wasn't very long and our first stop was lunch at the buffet at a big hotel which I grazed like a good American for an hour. After that we stopped at an outlet mall (DFO) so that everyone had the chance to buy something for our big night out in Vegas, but all I needed was a few more pairs of socks. We checked into the Alexis Park after a quick cruise down the Strip and made our preparations for the evening.

At 8pm everyone came to our hotel room for pre-drinks before jumping on a party bus at 9pm that was complete with stripper pole, lights, music and drinks - basically a club on wheels! Our first step after busting a few moves was down to take a photo at the Las Vegas sign which was smaller and closer to the city than I had expected - right next to the airport. Jumping back on the bus, the party continued down to Old Vegas at Fremont Street where we saw the light show display and heard a Bon Jovi cover band. Our final destination was the Bellagio Hotel on the main strip which was quite posh. After unsuccessfully trying to get kicked out (some of the girls had trouble walking by that point), we walked down the Strip to catch a cab, but I managed to get separated from the group with one of the drunk girls. Luckily there was a McDonalds closeby to help sober up a little, but by then the party was finished and we took a taxi back to the hotel. Having said all that, our night was one of the less interesting ones compared to the other stories I heard this morning!

After a late start, I spent most of the afternoon walking up and down the strip and catching the Fountain Display at the Bellagio Hotel to the tune of Lucky Be A Lady by Frank Sinatra. Tonight I'm going back to the MGM Hotel where I saw the lions to go and see a Cirque du Soleil show which I'm excited about.

Viva Las Vegas baby!
