Well yesterday was fairly eventful. Simon came around the previous evening to have dinner with my sister and her now fiance (woo hoo) and then she helped me do the packing. "No worries", I said "It will be done in an hour." Well It actually took 2 hours and it came to a shade under 19kgs so I'm going to have to do some repacking of some sort.
It was an early start at 5:30am as we got ready and jumped into the car and drove down to Keswick where the interstate train station is. After wolfing down a coffee and crossaints, there was enough time for some happy snaps with Victoria, Simon, Nadine and the family before jumping on the train for a 10.5 hour journey to Melbourne.
After a 30 minute delay waiting for a steel train, we were behind on the schedule most of the time, but I was sitting next to a nice old lady from Goolwa who was getting off at Ararat and the hours just melted away. We eventually caught up the time and arrived as scheduled at 7pm. Trains are brilliant - they're so relaxing.
I trekked to the Queen Victoria night markets where there were lots of people and some good live music. Liz caught up with her friend Nicole and had dinner before we trundled back to her Southbank Apartment. Not a bad view either!
