A stroll around town with the hostel mates. Over train tracks, we looked both ways. Trains passing us by without caring about our presence. Never would I back home. The river flows of murky gray waters contaminated of trash and stinch. A Dutch zebra cake we all put in for, yum. Sweets, always knowing how to put a smile on my face, I devoured it. Bused over to Dago Street to view the city from above. Detour to the best art university in Indonesia. Studio to studio I went, making friends with the artist. Checked out a photography exhibition that was portraying the life of a Mexican wrestler. Back into the art scene. I was invited to the Bandung Contemporary Arts Awards later that night. Never made it to the top of the hill but will view it later tonight from the show. Bus back up Dago hill but stopped at a certain point. I got out and started walking thinking the Lawangwangi Art & Science Estate was near. It was straight uphill and still a ways away, now I was sweating and extremely hot. Hitch-hiked and got picked up by an interior designer and his wife who was an artist as well that was also going to the show. Very fortunate to have them stop. It was a huge and posh event. Red carpet, videographers, loads of artist conversating, and a panoramic view of the city lights as the backdrop. Live musicians played outside while inside was rooms filled with great art. I was very impressed and loved the ambiance. Met up with the friends I made from the studio and walked around. They ended up taking me out for a late meal before taking me to the hostel and all around town where the tourist go. They introduced me to a meal that was extremely tasty, fried potato balls with rice and some spicy sauce. I was rolling around in style, in a convertible white VW. My whole day was great and the night couldn't have ended any better than a phonecall from afar where it's cold and snowy.
