the next day i got to know how creative nature can be at in the thermal wonderland in wai-o-taupo. amazing! after having finished the tour i went with an American girl i met the night before to taupo where we met up with some others. so, for a short period of time i am travelling in a group of seven, quite a change.
The saturday night fever really got me, i found myself at a kiwi party and had a good time. consequently it was kind of hard to catch the bus i booked the day before. i managed it anyway and headed towards rotura, which is one of the mauri centers in nz. as this city is located in one of the areas with the most volcanic activity in the world i was welcomed by an awesome smell of rotten eggs. the smell i have been enjoying ever since will be strongly linked to my stay here. in rotura i had to wait for the weather to get better, but in a spa that is actually not too bad. for the evening i booked some trip to a mauri village in order to learn a little about their culture. unfortunately it turned ou to be very touristic and i felt like being in an all inclusive club somewhere. anyway, it was pretty much my only opportunity there to get to know at least the basics. during the evening at the hostel i met some people and enjoyed my first improvised hostel party. good times. with some of those i met this evening i am travelling right now.
