From now on auckland plus surroundings are pretty much my only options, as my bag will still take a while to come here. i hardly couldn't believe it, but talking to the airport in auckland in order to check how i get the money (amazing 50 euros) the promised me, i found out that aua decided not to send my backpack to auckland but to my home address in vienna instead. probably the place where i need it the least. fortunately the fact that we are 10 hours ahead helped me to prevent aua from doing so and a could fix with them that it should be send this day to the maledives and then to singapore and then finally to auckland. so another day for me to wait and see. i have to acknowledge however that there are definitely worse places to stay that this city. for european standards the city is very young and thus has a completely different character. it offers an amazing skyline, a lot of water, really cool people and many corners to be discovered. i did some great walks, climbed my first two volcanos (quite some to follow...) and generally enjoyed a great time. james hosted me for another two nights and we spend two nice evenings together. we cooked or went out to eat and even had belgian beer at a belgian beer place at mission bay. fortunately i will come back here as soon as my trip is approaching an end. night life still waits to be discovered...
