Today is 'The Girls' day, or so it was meant to be. Chris and Emily were planned to take Jo shopping in Dayton but all our plans almost went to you know what when Cooper started vomiting at around 6.30 am.

Despite my constant push for Jo to just go, she initially declined until around 10 o'clock when Cooper bounced off the couch and appeared to be back running at 110%.

Whilst they waited for Emily to arrive we took the opportunity to go outside and grab a few photos which came out pretty neat.

Soon after the girls were in the car and headed for a day of shopping.

With the girls doing their thing, us boys were left to enjoy some quality 'Boys Time'.

We didn't have a lot planned except to stop in at Eldora and catch Jonathan for a bit of a tour up into the suites and then to head to the Bateman's Lake House for a look.

Clyde had initially hoped for us to spend a day up there skiing but the lake has unfortunately had an algae bloom much like at home and they are not allowing boats on at this time.

So we headed off to Eldora for a nice quiet day.

The Corporate Suites are amazing and the view is spectacular.

After a few more photo opportunities we said goodbye to Jonathan and headed towards the Lake.

We stopped off at the Dairy Dream for a bite to eat for lunch on the way which was pretty cool.

Before you knew it we were over at the Lake House and this was pretty damn cool. The feeling of the place is so relaxed and the boys really enjoyed the hour or so on the playground and just walking around.

On the way home Clyde suggested we call in and take a look at the Eldora Speedway endorsed St.Henry Nite Club.

Now sometimes calls like these work for you, and sometimes they don't.

Well this time it turned out to be an absolute ripper!!!

Clyde introduced us to the bar owner Bill Dues who also happens to run 2 late model race cars and 2 UMP Modifieds.

He took us out the back to look at the cars and the boys jumped in for a play and had a ball.

We then spent a bit of time 'talking' in the shop whilst the boys played around with their model cars and in and out of the workshop and trailer...

After a 'couple' of drinks we ventured inside the bar in readiness to head home.

Well, Bill turned out to be quite the generous type and bluntly told the bar lady that my money was 'no good here'.

He also really knows how to keep the boys entertained, throwing them a heap of quarters to keep on playing the slot machines whilst we traded stories about racing in Australia compared to the USA.

Before we knew it it was after six and we needed to get home.

So we ordered up a pizza, finished our beverages we were on and said our goodbye.

Bill was such a character, I really really enjoyed the few hours at the St.Henry Nite Club - what a blast!

How often do some of the best days stem from days where you totally planned to play it low key.

We called in at Birt's Store in New Weston OHIO on the way home and picked up some of his renowned lollies.

Back home we got the boys fed and bathed and in bed all before those girls returned from their day out none the wiser...

What a great day!

By the way, the girls actually had a pretty damn good day also and brought home a few goodies. Jo got some real bargains that Emily and Chris thought was just pretty normal to them! For instance, a pair of really nice Levi jeans for $36!
