I started the trip in Dallas. I went up and hung out with my brother Derek and my friend Beverley for a few days. Dallas isn't really my kind of town - too much money and people that ask what you drive. But I like hanging out with Derek and Bev so it was a cool few days. They helped me buy poster board and sharpies so I could start my hitch hiking adventure. Derek dropped me off in Lewisville and left me on the side of the road to try my luck. I was trying to get up to Oklahoma City to meet my friend Laura. It was a straight shot on I-35 and it was only a couple hundred miles, so I figured it would be easy. I had hitched in Europe and Central America. That had gone well. Would this be any different? Yeah, it would.
