One of my clients is a particularly extraordinary young lady who started an environmental organization from scratch. She built a nursery and grows several types of trees, many of them species that have disappeared from Bangkok over the last few decades as more designer and imported trees are used for landscaping. Half the trees are sold to support people in the local community (who run the nursery), and the other half are donated to areas around the country for replenishing the greenery in cities across Thailand. Her program has been recognized on the national and international level, and it has now been instituted at thousands of urban forest around the country. So we went to show our support and participate in a tree planting that included 2,000 trees over a few-day period. The nursery and tree-planting was also in Bangkrajao, the "Green Lung" we had visited a couple of weeks before. In addition to an enlightening lecture by the founder, we also got to see several local children perform traditional Thai dances. Check out the photos. It was an awesome day.
