My brother Eric had been busy while I was gone.  He showed up a few hours before I left for Asia (on a one-way ticket with no plans to return) and told me he had just gotten engaged. A few short months later, he got married. Then they got pregnant on the honeymoon. Then they had a baby girl. Then his infant girl went from a few weeks old to a few months old, and I could see from pictures that she was adorable. Then a few days before I came home, after only a couple of years abroad, she turned 1.  To recap, my brother had a girlfriend a day before I left, then when I got home, he had a 1-year-old.  Time flies.

Eric is basically just a giant teddy bear, so he's an awesome dad.  Libby was tons of fun to be around and we caught her at an amazing age.  In front of our eyes, in the few months we were back in the States, she went from crawling to standing, then started saying words, then took her first steps. Soon after, she was walking and talking and asking about everything in the world.  "Whaaat's thaaaat?" she said in an awe inspired whisper again and again. I immediately fell in love.

I will post photos and videos to prove she's adorable.  She's at least twice as cute as all the other kids on the planet, except for my other nieces and nephew, who on their best days are equally as cute.
