I've seen several blind people here. Not that odd. There are blind people everywhere. But I haven't seen any of them wearing sunglasses. I don't know that this is really common practice, or perhaps it's just my stereotypical image. But here's what's odd. I saw two people today that didn't have eyelashes and they're eyelids didn't cover their eyes completely. I don't know what that means. But it's a bit frightening and sad for some reason. I'm not sure why. I doubt they care. But it's just painful.
Then a guy with only one arm and who was bleeding profusely from a wound just between his eyes tried to dance with me on the street. When things like this happen I try to play it cool and act like it's no big deal. But quite frankly, it's disconcerting. Just thought I'd share.
Then an obviously homeless, most likely strung out, 15- or 16-year-old kid walked up to a restaurant take out window and asked for something. The owner sent him away, so he laid down on the sidewalk and decided to take a nap. I approached the owner and asked him what the kid wanted. He named the item. I asked how much it was and said I'd pay for it. He asked if it was for me. I said no, it's for the kid. He refused. Said he didn't want him in the restaurant. I asked him to make it to go. He said no. I walked away confused and upset. It shouldn't be this difficult should it?
I saw some great art today. There's a free photo exhibit at a gallery near my hostel. It's phenomenal.
I bought a ticket to Villahermosa. I'll get in at 9 tomorrow morning. There's only one thing I want to see there, so I'll hang out in town for a few hours, then go to Palenque for the night. I'll post after I check out the ruins.

I hope you took some pictures of the art (if you were able). I'd love to see that. I guess I could check and see if you posted any. didn't think about that! Sometimes this website confuses me. I kind of feel like that kid who wanted something but couldn't get it. I guess I will just take a nap here on the floor by my desk. F it all! Have a great time in Palenque! Say hello to Chac for me. Oh, and if you see the God of Fertility, tell him I've missed him and I can't wait to have his babies. Toodles Dane!

I think I figured it out. Sometimes I wonder about myself and how I got here. wierd. Disappointed I didn't see any art, unless you consider 'cool guy' art. Some would. Keep up the good work Dane!
