I caught a ride with the hostel owner back to San Pedro Sula that morning. After an amazing lunch that tasted almost like Chico's Tacos in El Paso, I took a bus to Copan Ruinas. The bus was fantastic and had amazing air conditioning.
Copan Ruinas is a great little town. It's tiny and spreads out just a few block in each direction from the central plaza. The ruins themselves are quite impressive. The city is said to be the artistic capital of the Mayan empire and is often called the Mayan Paris.
I didn't do much but walk around the village, but I really enjoyed my time there.
