That's right! Todays entry covers both the 4th and the 5th of January

On the 4th I woke up in the LA Hacienda hotel at 12 (I stayed up late haha), packed up my things, and hopped on the bus to the LAX airport. Oh backtrack- I went to a mobile store before hand and got myself a prepaid mobile- my number is (1)3102275520 if you wanna call :)

Got to the airport, went through security and waited at gate 72B for my 4:00 flight to Chicago. Now I had my ticket so I was fine, but United Airways stuffed up and they overbooked the flight by like 30 people (lol). They were offering anyone who could stay an extra day in LA and take a flight tomorrow- a first class 6pm flight in the morning, 4 star hotel in LA for the night, free dinner voucher, and $600 worth of flight vouchers for United airways. 'HECK YES' I said (I didn't have anything to do in Chicago the next day anyway).

Anyway, there were 3 other guys who decided to take the deal with me- Chris, Stacey and Megan. On the way to the hotel we got, we all got to know each other and decided to hang out for the night- new America friends! There is a burger place in LA that apparently famous amongst Americans- it's called 'in and out' burger. It's a classic 1950's style fast food place, with the smallest menu I've ever seen in my life (see pics). The burgers were great- though (obviously lol) not up to Grill'd standard!

Afterwards we went to see Sherlock Holmes at a nearby cinema (there are heaps in LA- the movie capital of the world!)

Went to sleep, and woke up for my first class flight leaving at 6! Only Megan was on my flight and we had some good chats on the way to Chicago (she's a local). First class with, choice of breakfast/ fruit, crossounts and unlimited drinksinc alcoholic haha. I could get used to this!! I did have an American beer, (didn't ask for ID, its 21 over here remember haha), it was so much better then Aussie beers, I really recommend trying one!

Moving on, I got to Chicago, checked into my hotel. Chicago was -11 to -14 Celsius with snow EVERYWHERE! (see pics) while it looked really cool, it was FREEZING (literally!! haha). I didn't venture out of my room all night, watched TV, chatted to some on you back home on FB and ordered room service!

Looking forward to heading to Purdue and Fairway house tomorrow! I'll keep you posted.

Till next time, I'm Daniel Collins.
