So we got to Florence around noon. We could not find our hotel because the numbers were so weird on the street. The street ended at the number before the one we needed. Yet somehow walking the other way for 10 minutes recovered the number. weird. We wanted to take the elevator up to our floor and I got in and the woman working there tried to shove Jeff in too....so she wanted us both in there with both our backpacks and the elevator was about 3 ft x 3 ft. hahaha he gave up and walked up the stairs. Our room was ready so we dropped off our stuff and went to the train station.

We caught the first train out to Livorno. The train was so incredibly bad. So in two hours we got to Livorno and our goal was to find the beach. We started walking down the main street. About 30 minutes in we got really hungry because we haven't eaten since about 9 am. Every single place was closed! Finally we found some random kebab place and ordered those. We decided we would not eat them until we found the beach...as like a reward. We asked a man how to get there and he told us to just keep walking. Well after about 15 minutes we kinda gave up and ended up eating our kebabs on a bench....good willpower! haha

So then we kept walking some more. 20 minutes later we found some people laying on rocks by the water. We had to cross some random construction stuff because the entrance was closed. Well this rocky area was tiny so we didnt want that. So we kept walking and we saw something! Huge beach with a water slide going into the sea! Buttttttt it cost a lot so we didnt do that either. Finally we found a really cute area. There was this walkway and a balcony. Well if you cross the balcony there are a bunch of rocks with people all over just hanging out and tanning. So we crossed over to chill there. It was extremely peaceful and beautiful. We could see Corsica from there! So cool. I then ended up playing with a crab that I found.

So after a while of hanging out and enjoying the shores of Italy, we headed back to the train station...then we realized the last train was pretty soon and we needed to get back fast! haha we didnt really want to sleep on the street that night. We stopped at a tabachi store (tobacco store but here is where you get bus tickets) and Jeff went to town with his Italian. So we got our tickets, no problemo. We got on a bus and caught the train. Now we were off to Pisa!
