15 – We began our day with a long walk to where we used to go to look for the whales and then continued on down to the ocean. We then walked along the beach and Len climbed a big rock.  We saw some small crabs climbing over the rocks.  We had some water and then began our walk back up the hill.  The first part is very steep, reminded me of the road in Yuma up to the towers.    After lunch we tried out the car and drove to Crash Boat.  Enjoyable day as there wasn't too many people on the beach.   The car worked great so we were happy.

The whales seem to have left the area, we haven’t seen any signs out on the ocean.  They are here from December to February, so I guess they have moved on.

I included pictures of the bananas out back, they are growing so fast.  It would be nice to see them fully grown before we leave.  Only 15 days left.

16 – Today we again did our walk down to the ocean.  We walked to the other end of the beach.  There aren’t any surfers out this morning.  It wasn’t any easier going up the road.

This afternoon we go to Aguada Beach,   we aren’t really looking for sea glass, but do look along the beach.  We brought out chairs and sat and read, enjoyed the wind and sun, actually shade.  It was so nice to be where there aren’t any people in a small space all talking at once.

We asked Richard Purdy if we could take a picture of him painting and a picture of his paintings.  He is planning for a very large show in Toronto on October 1.  If you go on youtube.com and search his name, chose the ones in French, and you can see his show in Schewenegen.  It is impressive and when I asked him how it was done it is even more impressive.

We went to the casino to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.  Can’t figure that one out, but they announced it as their party day. Only a day early.  There really wasn’t anything special but lots of people, and, oh, they served grilled ham and cheese sandwiches tonight, instead of just grilled cheese sandwiches.  We did have several wins and enjoyed our evening out.

17 – We did the walk again this morning.  Lots of cars going up and down the road.  We walked to the end of the beach and there were lots of surfers out this morning, same place as yesterday.  We couldn’t figure out what the difference was in the waves from yesterday and today but I guess there is.

We watched for 20 minutes and then left to go back.  No, it wasn’t easier at the steep bottom.  Maybe in a couple of days it will be.

This afternoon we went to Crash Boat and Len went for a snorkel.  He seen the little turtle again and lots of trumpet fish.  There are vendors who sell pinchos (meat on a stick), fish and pop or pina coladas.  The pinchos smelled really good today, but maybe it was just the way the wind was blowing.  It was a cooler wind today.

Tonight we went out to 110 Thai Restaurant.  110 is the highway number the restaurant is on.  We were early, it wasn’t open yet.  There was a lot going on, they had put up two white canopy covers, like we would in the winter for a car.  They were going to have a St. Patrick’s Day Party outside!!  There was a special menu for outside, fish & chips or veal stew, beer and entertainment.  All the staff had green tops on with green beads and a client had brought them in some fancy green top hats.

We came back just after 5 when it opens and went inside to the restaurant to eat.  We had Pad Cashew with shrimp and a 1 for spiciness.  You could have up to ten, I think that would be quite hot.  The place was full inside before we left.  The food was excellent and I am so glad we went, will go back again, hopefully before we leave.

It was getting full outside also, the band was ready to play.  We were trying to figure out how we would get out of the parking lot when it began to rain.  The band and their instruments took shelter.  We left to go home.

Sounds exciting, we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at a Thai Restaurant in Puerto Rico!
