Back into London this morning. We are checking on flights to go home.  Then down to Buckingham Palace to get a close look at the changing of the guards, we are early so should get a good spot.  We see lots of empty spaces right up by the gate, then we see a sign 'no changing of the guards today'!

We go on to Westminster Abby.  It is a very stately and beautiful old church.  There are lots of tourists here!  Wow.  We get audio guides that take us all around the Abby and provide so much information.  It has so much history with everyone who has been here from William the Conqueror, several Henry’s, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, the present Queen Elizabeth, weddings, funerals and coronations.

We see the coronation chair that everyone has used since 1308.  On the audio tape we heard the organ and the Abbey boys’ choir.

Each hour they stop for a minute of tradition of prayer.

The abbey was founded in 960 by the Benedictines.  The original building has been added to, changed and expanded over the years to its present state.

We enjoyed the tour, everything we seen and learned.  Sorry no pictures inside, you have to look on line for them.

We then go and check out some car rental prices, we plan on renting one for tomorrow to take our tour outside of the city.

It was a great day.  We took the bus back home, our last long ride up front on the double decker bus.  What a memory.
