Back in Canada in the Province of Saskatchewan there is Lake Manitou. The water in this lake has lots of minerals, similar to the Dead Sea properties.  You float in it.  We have been to the Manitou Spa several times and enjoyed the uniqueness of free floating.  At the spa they advertise there are only three places of water in the world with the same properties, one being Manitou, the Dead Sea and the waters at Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic.

We have experienced Manitou and the Dead Sea, since we are here, we are going to Karlovy Vary to try out the waters.  We have been looking online as to where we can float in the water, but there only seem to be spas who do all kinds of treatment, some with Dr.'s prescriptions.  They also drink the water.

We arrive at the tourist office and ask where we go to float in the water.  Well, there isn’t any place.  There is a normal pool here (he shows us on the map) and a pool here with only 30% water from the springs, the rest is normal water.  We tell them about our Lake Manitou and the young chap googles the spa and reads about the water and sees in black and white that their town is noted as a place having the same water properties.  They think there is a mistake and it should be in Budapest, Hungary where the waters to float in are.

We leave and go to see the colonnades, these are fancy walkways with pillars that have little fountains where the thermal water comes out.  People are walking along with fancy china cups.  The handles are really spouts to drink the water from.  They go to the water taps, fill their cups and stroll along drinking the water.  The water is warm and at some stops hot water.

We bought a very tiny cup and tried the water.  I got an instant head ache so didn’t have any more.  Len seemed to enjoy it.

The town is very beautiful, lots of fancy painted buildings, beautiful flowers, and flower boxes.  Lots and lots of restaurants for all those tourists walking around with their cups drinking the water.

There are also an incredible number of spas treating digestive system diseases, metabolism defects, diseases of the locomotive organs and many other complaints.

We enjoyed our stop even though it wasn’t what we were expecting.  We have a cute little china cup for our Christmas tree decoration.

We are close to the German border so we use all our Krouns for diesel and leave Czech Republic.  It most certainly is a beautiful country along the west side.  We passed fields and fields of poppyflower heads.  It must have been beautiful when they were all in bloom!
