We only had 16 hours in Hong Kong, and that includes a nights sleep. The group seperated here as not all of us were continuing throught to Vietnam, as the trip was split into two trips. Two new people joined us, Joanne and Mark, from London.
We went for our final group meal in the evening, followed by a trip to an Irish bar.
The next morning we departed, 6 original, 2 newbies and a new tour leader. One of the guys didnt get in til 6am and didnt make it for our 11am meet. He showed up at 11.45 when we were giving up hope and had no choice but to go.
After a tube, a fast ferry, border crossing back into China and a flight, we arrived in Kaili for our overnight stay.
The next morning we left Kaili for a trek through Xijang, where it took 6 hours to get to our guesthouse. This place was absolutley crawling with spiders due to the location. Michelle hated every second.
We attended another cultural performance in the evening, where we had to sing and dance for the locals, in return for them doing the same. So after a very poor rendition of the YMCA, and some rather dodgy dancing, we sat down and enjoyed the show.
That night after wrapping ourselves up in our mosquito net for spider prtection, we managed to get some sleep.
