Where I stayed
We stayed in the Bounty Island resort (where Celebrity Love Island was filmed, what a claim to fame?)
The accomodation was right on the beach, and was a bit basic compared to what we were used to.
It had air-conditioning but that was where the luxury ended. The roof was made of canvas and we had a gecko in the shower (I had to keep look out in case it went for Hattie's throat). It was also our first experience of sleeping under a mosquito net.
We went to the eating area for a barbecue tea, the food was one of the better places, and started chatting to the only people of a similar age to us.
The Swedes were there, but there baggage wasn't so they weren't very happy. We also had the company of the Irish Nolan sister, Selena and Avril and a girl of 24 from Bognor Regis called Kai-leigh (pronouced Kylie).
We were talking whilst the staff were playing the Bulah song (which we would come to hear about twice every day) and a wrinkly old crow from two tables down came and whacked Hattie on her (very tender) sunburn and hissed 'You could listen to the music'. We all sat stunned as we were so shocked that it had just happened. Hattie was convinced she wasn't talking loudly at all, but I think she has the frog reflex, whereby her eardrums close to protect themselves from the volume of their own calls.
I got eaten again.
