We were told that we would be collected from our Hotel reception to go to the jetty at 9am so we could catch the ferry at half-past.
We arrived at reception to check out at 8:45, thinking we had plenty of time, only to be informed that the ferry was in fact at 9 o'clock. Then proceeded a mad dash along the beach in sweltering heat. The bell-boy had a proper sprint on, and we were trotting to keep up. Hattie, very gracefully, allowed me to follow the bell-boy knowing that she would catch up when we were unloading the bags.
She managed to walk past us at the entrance to the jetty and had returned by the time I turned to find her. God, only knows how she managed to pass, me and a bell-boy in a gharishly-coloured shirt with all our bags right next to the entrance.
She also nearly got on the wrong Phuket boat, alledgedly, (and would have probably ended-up back in Krabi) had she not come back to find me. We were the last two people to get on the boat.
One man did accomplish what Hattie had so nearly managed and did end up on the wrong boat, we had to do a mid-sea swap-over, which involved the two drivers having to slowly sidle up to each other, we were slightly worried when we saw another boat coming towards us.
