Well Washington is just as sunny as New York - in fact it was HOT! Our accomodation was in the area of the University buildings - a very nice area we thought oh yes our hotel must be pretty nice... well as you maybe able to tell from the photo...the only building in the whole of Washington that hasnt been closed by the Building Authority that deserves to me thinks!
We walked about 1000 miles (slight exaggeration but def felt like it) seeing the Arlington American Cemetry, Iwo Juma Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, The White House, the Library of Congress, USA Capitol Building, National Archives, The Einstein Memorial, The Washington monument and the Reflecting Pool. Oh yes all that in one day - we will be super fit by the time we get home!
July the 4th we sat and watched the parade on Constitution Avenue, well we watched some of it but we melted our butts off so had to leave after an hour or so. The evening celebrations were pretty spectacular, we stood on the grassy area between the national monument and the relecting pool....the fireworks were awesome and the atmosphere was buzzing.
