Well - where shall we start? I would say at the beginning but as I am writing this about 2 weeks after the event its kinda hard to remember which was the beginning which was the middle and which was the end in New York. In the space of 4 days we managed to fit so much in - in fact we thought about going back to work for a rest!! (KIDDING OBVIOUSLY).

Our flight was delayed by an hour so we spent an extra hour on the plane than necessary but it seemed to fly by (excuse the pun) As you may know I have never been on a 'proper' flight but it went so fast and before I knew it we had landed in the US of A!

It was definitely a must for our first day (and the second and third) in the States to have breakfast in a proper traditional all American diner - over easy eggs and crispy bacon. Now I am in the final stages of America though I think we would both agree we never want another egg again - scrambled, sunny side up/down, omelet or any way you can think of cooking it. Although don't hold us to that!

Anyway enough about food (for now) and here to (hopefully) more interesting stuff.......

Our first day - after the excitement of Carl leaving me on the subway alone (as some of you may have heard!) our first stop was the Statue of Liberty. We took the ferry out quite early to miss the tourists - and it was hot hot hot! The Statue itself was a lot smaller than I imagined (Carl says thats cos I'm spoilt?!) but still an awesome sight to see! We spent the rest of that day walking central park I think but as I say its so long ago now!!

The second day was busy too with a trip up the Empire State Building which is the tallest building in New York and holds the best views.  Next was a walk to Grand Central Station - good to see but not much to do there unless your getting the train!! The evening we spent up the Rockefeller Center - almost as tall as the Empire states building we sat at the top for a couple of hours watching the sun setting and lights going on the Empire State.

Our last full day in New York was spent doing only what it should....SHOPPING!! Macy's, Old Navy and the like oh how we wished we didn't only have a budget of $70 a day! Oh and someone to carry our bags would be nice....next time maybe...We took the ferry out to Staten Island the evening time... the view of New York was pretty good, followed by a trip to Little Italy (impressive) and China Town (not so impressive as we couldnt find it - not to worry sure the real China town may be slightly impressive!).
