Day 21.

We jumped up at 05:00am to catch the local bus from Phonsavan to Vinh (Vietnam). The bus left at 06:30am and was supposed to arrive in Vinh at 17:30pm. It took an hour longer, but that was pretty good timing, it could have been a lot longer!

The bus was full, no space in the seats not even for  the pig which somebody stuck in a bag then put in the baggage hold. We have never heard a pig scream so loud! Luckily Emma did not feel sick this time. This was a good job as the lady infont of her must have vommited 20 times, if not 30! By the 15th time she had no shame and was chucking bags of sick out of the bus window. By the 20th vomit the sick went on our feet and her baby then joined in the fun! Oh and the bus ran out of petrol. The driver called the AA equivalent, a 100 year old truck with a rusty barrel (petrol) on it, and a chicken.

The kind driver made only one toilet stop in 12 hours, but we managed to have a second pee at the border of Laos and Vietnam. At the border we had to take our bags off and walk with them half  a mile. The locals did not seem to do this, and the pig apparently didn't need a passport.

For some reason after we had finished this interesting journey we then decided to jump on another bus (sleeper) to Hue (there were no trains due to flooding). This bus dumped us at 02:45am in a car park. We managed to find a nice hotel with a bath and room service and crash for the night.

(That was a long day).
