There just are not enough positive adjectives to describe Palau: fantastic, spectacular, beautiful, peaceful, friendly...all true but don't quite do it justice. Palau is roughly 4,500 miles from Hawaii and forms part of the boundary between the Philippine Sea and the Pacific Ocean. It is perhaps best known for its water adventures, and truly is a haven for diving, snorkeling, kayaking, and swimming with stingless jellyfish. We were there in September 2010 as the last field outing for the mangrove project. We had the extreme good fortune to be able to work with the staff at PICRC, as well as Forest Service colleagues Rich and Caitlin. We'll let the pictures and captions speak for our experiences there; suffice it to say it was a fantastic way to end our adventures in the 'nesias.
