Well, we're home!
We left the West Sacramento campground at 7:00 and breakfast at Denny's. We were on the road again by 8:00.
We took a detour to the see the Capitol building. Did a drive by. Yep. It's still there. Victoria and I were just there in May.
We drove alllllll the way down the 5 freeway - cows, brown hills, trucks, cows - the usual. It was exciting getting closer and closer to Los Angeles! Things looking familiar!
We stopped in Gorman for food and gasoline. We made it home by 3:30!
The front door wore a banner that says "WELCOME HOME!" The key still fit!
Maxine and Gene came over with porkchops and pototoes for dinner!!! The kids were really excited to see them. Nearly as excited as Gramma & Grampa! I thought they were going to cry like when we left. They even brought an ice cream cake to celebrate Katrina's belated birthday.
Well, my bed is calling to me! I'll be here, unpacking, if you need me. I will go get the Daisy from Tim & Cindy's house, too. Phil goes back to work on Thursday.
I will be "backblogging" all the days that I missed. Soon before I forget what we did.
Victoria was running Thursday night in flip flops and fell. We thought she may have broken her foot, so we had it x-rayed on Friday in Florence, OR. I just talked to the radiologist today and they said it was not broken! So she will continue to ice it, elevate it, and wrap it. If it doesn't feel better in a week, I will take her to the orthopedist to have her checked out. Hopefully, she can start soccer soon!
Thank you, everyone, for keeping up with our adventures this summer! We really enjoy all the comments! We are so happy to be home --- Time for some playdates and lazy days!
