Where I stayed
Aunt Arlene's house

Oh what a long day of driving!!  We were sufficiently interogated at the customs station.  I think Phil thought she was just making conversation when she asked how he got to take 7 weeks of vacation.  I interupted him and told her that he did have a job and really was on vacation (and wasn't planning on relocating to Canada!).

Not too much to report about that.  Except that calling on our cell phones in Canada is very expensive!  So we won't do it.  But texting is free.   And fortunately, we can get wifi at Aunt Arlene's.  Phil told the kids that the speed limit was 100!!  Hold on!  We've got to go much faster!  They were pretty excited....until we explained that 100 km/hr is about 60 mph.

What a wonderful home she has!   She has remodeled the downstairs as an apartment for Zenon.  He's not living there right now, so she insisted we stay there instead of in our trailer.  Oh, how spoiled we are!  It's like staying in a four star hotel ---- no!!!  way better!!!  --- she stocked the frig!  it's got a big kitchen, washer & dryer!  A bedroom for Phil & I and the kids sleep in the frontroom with the big screen TV!  All the comforts of home.

She made us steak and potatoes and lots of veggies for dinner!  Yum!!!  A home cooked meal!  She makes us feel so welcome.  We stayed up late talking so much!  ....speaking of talking....  Miss Katrina has really taken to Aunt Arlene!  In the morning, she asked where she went.  Well, she was still sleeping, Katrina.   When she goes to her kitchen for coffee, Katrina is right with her!  Talking up a storm.  I try to get Katrina to get back downstairs to get dressed.  Then she goes looking for her again. I find her telling so many stories to Arlene!  Poor Aunt Arlene!  She won't get a moment alone with this one around!

Victoria loves the big Steinway piano.  Her daughters play piano,& violin and sing opera beautifully.  They will be here this weekend.

I'd stay there. will Aunt Arlene take on permanent friends of family! Having lived near Canada in my "earlier" years I can attest to their ice cream! The best I have had so lick lots.

Buckle up and come on home!
