Where I stayed
Aunt Arlene's in Niagra-on-the-Lake, ON, Canada

We woke up to rain today!  Lots of it.  It poured on and off all day.  It would only stop if we went inside!

This morning, the kids each took spa baths at Aunt Arlene's!  I think they each spent an hour in the tub.  Katrina follows Aunt Arlene around, talking her ears off!  We didn't make it out of the house until noon!  I got a load of laundry done & breakfast made.  Whoowho.

We crossed back into New York and found our way to Aunt Mary (Gene's sister) and Uncle Dave's house in Silver Creek, about 30 miles south of Buffalo.  We had a really nice time talking with them.  They were disappointed in the weather because they had planned so much to do with us, but it was  all outside.  It was really too wet to be out!  We went out to have pizza and Buffalo wings (they are better here!).  They took us to an ice cream place that has 101 flavors of soft ice cream - yum

Back at their house, we saw a deer in their huge backyard!  She picks all the apples off their tree.  They have such a beautiful home secluded on 4 acers of grassy land, surrounded by trees!  They were hoping to take us to the lake to go fishing, but at least we got to feed the ducks and geese at the lake nearby.

When we got back, Arlene showed us that the sparrows' eggs had hatched on her front porch!  I couldn't  get a decent picture of them...I'll try again tomorrow....

We are going to Niagra Falls on the American side in the morning.  Then off to Aunt Pat's to go to Broadway Market for good Polish food....and a case Weber's mustard. I heard it comes in plastic bottles now.  It might have a better chance at making it back to California!

Zenon (Arlene's son) is flying in from New York on Sunday morning!  He was just traded from NHL team the Tampa Bay Lightning to the NY Islanders!!!  We'll have a party here with his sisters, Celeste & Cynthia.  Victoria was so excited when Arlene told her that Zenon's girlfriend is going to take them to ride her horse!   And Arlene is going to take her to get a manicure one morning.  A dream summer, I'm telling you....
