I'm a couple of days behind!   Bear with me while I catch up!

This morning, the kids woke Phil up at 5:30!  Time to go fishing!   They rigged up their poles and set out to the stream.  (I, of course, slept in!....until 8:45!)  Victoria caught 7, Ben 3 and Phil & Katrina 1.  Ben did not easily give up. He was 4 behind.  There were blue gill and spotties (some kind of sunfish) and Victoria got a big mouth bass.  Big giant carp keep teasing them!  They must have been 18 inches long!

At dusk, a herd of 32 cows came by for a drink of water and a bath!  They were only about 20 feet from us.  We watched the fireflies blinking all over the cornfields too.  Looked like there were millions of them!

We toured an Amish farm in the afternoon.  Very interesting community.  They only go to school until 8th grade, then they have to work.  They don't want to be connected to the world, so they don't use electricity or gas.  But propane is okay....   Their language is kind of Germany and poor English.  They seem to be very hard working people.  The kids weren't very impressed with the tour.  They like the farm animals!

That evening, we went to Dutch Wonderland. When you buy a ticket for the next day, they let you in from 5:30 to 8:30 the evening before!  It's a cheesy mini-Disneyland.  In those 3 hours, the kids rode all the rides a couple times!  No lines!  It would have been perfect for them, three years ago!   It has a prince/princess/dragon theme.  One big roller coaster, a sky ride and a little log ride.
