We felt just like we were home today! An hour and a half of bumper to bumper traffic!  All of Phil's time schedule shot to....uh....the moon!  We didn't make it to Philly until 9:30, but we found a parking spot luckily.  The neighborhoods we went through were falling apart.  We also saw beautiful old churches with the tallest skinny steeples.  The houses are mostly tall and skinny, all two story brick.

We checked out the Visitor Center and got a plan of attack.  The kids got a new workbook for the National Parks for the Liberty Bell and Independance Hall.  We got to see the REAL Liberty Bell - not just the one at Knott's Berry Farm!  We walked the stairs that George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Adams, and Benjamin Franklin climbed to the very room where they signed the Declaration of Independance and The Constitution!  (Yes, I know all of these same men did not sign both documents.....we learned that....Washington was off leading the troops)

We met a few fine Patriot Soliders who were recruiting good men (and girls too!) to fight against the terrible British.  Well, guess who eagerly signed right up!  They said they would finish their duty in three years and get paid $2.45 each and every month.   And they would also get property in the Ohio Territory!  We sure will miss them.

They completed their solider training.  Marching, about-facing, rifle handling, and even a bayonette charge!  I think they like that the best.

They also completed their 6th Junior Ranger badge and were officially sworn in.

We were planning to take a buggy ride but they were no where to be found by 4:00.  So we took a Duck tour instead!  This tour "bus" was amphibious!  We got a detailed account around the town with a very funny driver and lots of songs.  Then he drove right up to the Deleware River, changed seats with Captain Dave and we splashing into the water!  Across the harbor was Camden, NJ.  And an old Campbell's factory too.  They gave us obnoxious duck squawkers to blow loudly the whole trip.

We managed to find our way back to the campsite and the kids caught  fireflies again.  Katrina made a new little friend.  They are planning to go fishing in the stream in the morning.

Cindy's cookies arrived today!  So of course we had milk and cookies for dessert!!  yum!  Thank you, Cindy!

Tomorrow, we are going to an Amish farm and then to the water park that's next door to  the camp.
