Margaret River is located about four hours south of Perth. Along with Margaret, we headed there for a night, keen to check out a few wineries. We visited Vasse Felix, Cape Mentelle and Leeuwin Estate for tastings. Vasse Felix seems to have won out amongst the three of us. The next day we drove to Augusta, the Southern tip of the west coast of WA. We went via Cave Road..which, true to its name is dotted with caves, open to the public. We had been recommended the Jewel Cave. It was class. The pictures will do it justice when we upload them. It was complete with a dead possum which had fallen into it hundreds of years ago but has been preserved because of the moisture in the cave. We continued to Augusta where we had lunch. Difficult to find places that are open on Sundays in WA..businesses have to close unless they're located in a tourist area according to the law. The only one that has defied the rule is Harvey Norman. Anyway, we continued on the road to the sea and saw where the Southern Ocean meets the Indian Ocean. Yeahey! But, we didn't see any Whales. Booo!
