Ocean Grove is about an hour from Melbourne at the start of the Great Ocean Road. We visited our mates Darren and Tracey who have a very cool set up near the beach. Barwon Heads, a little town located on a river at the mouth of the sea is about 2km down the road. Ailbhe loved it there - almost couldn't drag her away from the place. Darren and Tracey are moving there so no doubt we'll be back again.
While the lads were at work we checked out some towns nearby. Had coffee in Port Arlington looking out over the sea. Nice there, think Salthill without the tack. Fort Lonzdale was Michael's favourite, a bit like Spiddel in Galway - with sun. Fish and Chips are highly recommended! Queenstown is a proper tourist town - the main street looks like something from a 1950's movie. It was THE place to go in the late 19th Century for a holiday. Most of the Hotels have retained their original exterior features aswell as most of the buildings on the main street. Like stepping back in time.
Apart from that we walked on the beach, Ailbhe caught a wave but couldn't stand up on the surfboard, had post work beers and bubbly with Daz and Trace and basically kicked back like we were on holiday. Which...i suppose..we are! Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Findling.
