Thursday: this morning we got to meet with a EU Commissioner for a short meeting. Brussels is a huge EU center, containing offices for the Commission, Council, and other smaller offices. The meeting was quite interesting; especially since this commissioner was working with a group having meetings and negotiations with the United States. It was clear what his views on Bush were, understandably, and he sounded very eager for a change in administration no matter the candidate. Out of all important issues the EU is trying to discuss with the U.S., our priority is chicken. Removing the EU's ban on our god damn chicken imports. Not terrorism, the environment, the middle east, or even Iraq; god damn chicken. Well I know who's nasty pockets Foster Farms is sticking their hands in. After this meeting, I had about an hour to kill before my train to Paris. It was my first on a high speed train, and this thing was pretty damn cool. It goes fast enough to require pressurized cars, and we made it from Brussels to Paris in 1 hour 10 minutes. After arriving in Paris I had to scoot off to another train station for my transfer.
