Where I stayed
Today our GPSs sent us off on a crazy path where we would be on a perfectly scenic, well surfaced and enjoyable road for 3 or so km, then send us off into the hills. As we lost each other within about 20 minutes of taking off from Lienz, we couldn't confer and just make the decision to continue down the logical road. So, Dave wound up travelling along a very pleasant lake which was lined with a string of small resort type villages and towns and Di was somewhere completely different. We both went down a mountain road, high into the alps, which was so badly broken up it got quite tense - at different times as we weren't there together. And each time we got directed up yet another mountain to yet another high point, it got very cold and we were dressed for the pleasant weather in the valleys. So not a great day, but still not a bad one.
Graz may well be a very nice city, it gets a big thumbs up in Wikipedia. We didn't really get the chance to find out as we decided we need to get to Poland pretty soon.
The Aus stickers on our bikes led us to a conversation with a very nice couple who stopped us outside the hotel we'd aimed for, the Romantik on the Park, and advised trying a others instead.
Our decision and our responsibility, but we took their advice and wound up at the Hotel Daniel. We can't recommend the Hotel Daniel. We were out of there and headed for the Slovak Republic without a backwards glance.
