After our big night last night, there wasn't much on the agenda for today apart from relaxing and going at your own pace. Again I woke at 5am and there is no way I can go back to sleep once I wake up, so I grab the computer and try to make a start on our blog (not easy typing in the dark, so excuse all the errors).  Eventually I move outside as Andrew has our air conditioning set to then Antarctic level.  As soon as you go outside you will always experience your sunglasses, camera or laptop screen fog up from the change in temperature.

Eventually we all head down for another delicious breakfast.  I love to have a coffee in the morning but I realise that it makes me so hot here, that I can’t really enjoy it.  We decide to have a swim and then Andrew wants to go to the large shopping centre Jungecelon to see if he can get the new iphone.

Lesley and Colin, who are looking more themselves today, wearing their own clothing, have decided to chill by the pool.  Kaz & Al come with us and motorbikes are our way of getting there.  The shopping centre isn’t far from where we are but it’s a hot walk and doesn’t appeal and hey that’s why we have the bikes in the first place.

We are directed to the motorbike carpark and it is a maze of thousands of bikes.  How on earth will we find our bike when we come back out, as the pillars don’t even have numbers?  We will just have to rely on 4 memories and hope for the best.

Andrew finds the apple store but the phone hasn’t been released here yet, so he will just have to wait until he gets home.  We stop for ice coffees at Starbucks and then head back to the hotel.  I haven’t been feeling crash hot today.  I don’t know if it’s a hangover, about to get sick or just too plain tired from my early mornings.  We go back and a swim cools me down in no time.

Lesley and Col have gone missing but we know that there aren’t Lost. Eventually they turn up and have had a lovely day discovering the markets.  Colin is a crack up and he is delighted that he had some fun as he walked around all the stalls.  Anyone that has been before will know that it is impossible to just shop at your leisure without being hassled by the Indian tailors or stall holders.  It can get tyring and frustrating but Col took it all in his stride and laughed and joked with them, to the point that he came back with a smile (told you this is the land of smiles).

Colin has found a few clever answers to give back to the tailors and one of them was when they say to you "G’day mate (in their best Aussie accent) wanna buy a suit"  Col replies  “Do I look like I wear a suit”?  We love it so much we all now say it.  Another “Colinism” is the Tuk Tuk guys say to you as you exit the hotel “Tuk Tuk, Tuk Tuk”  Col now says “why do you want one”?

We decide to grab a bite to eat and wander to a restaurant next door to the hotel called Banana Restaurant.  We have eaten here a few times over the years and the prices and food are good.  Col, Lesley and Allan all order a pizza each, which I think was around $5.  I order a club sandwich, Kaz has calamari and Andrew ordered a burger.  The meals arrive and the pizzas are huge, there is no way they can finish them.  The staff are friendly and offer them as take away but with the heat we don’t think that it’s worth it and they were so cheap anyway that they don’t consider it a loss.

We head back to relax a bit.  I am so tired but unable to fall asleep as we are planning to grab a tuk tuk and go to Phuket town weekend markets.  We find a guy willing to take us there and bargain the price to 800 baht return and he is happy to wait whilst we shop.  I know the price could of been lower  but I figure that when you split it between 6 people it’s still a bargain.  It was about  $ 7 a couple return for a 30 minute trip each way.  We arrive at the markets and the place is busy, oh and not to mention hot.  It’s great to get out of the long laneways and grab a bit of air and a breeze.  They have a food section here and I must say this is the part that interested me more than the other stalls.  The colours, smells and “oh my goodness what on earth is that” won me over.  I would of loved to of tried some of the things on offer but we didn’t,  I think due to self preservation.  We eventually decide to cut the market and find our tuk tuk driver, who is waiting for us.  The trip back doesn’t seem to take as long and it’s a bit of an adventure with the six of us in the back.  The poor guys Tuk Tuk is in first gear going up the hills and struggles.  We could of gotten out and walked faster at one point. Later we passed a Tuk Tuk with about 10 people in the back.

Nobody has the desire or strength to attempt to go out into the shinning lights of Patong tonight, so we decide to grab a bite to eat in the hotels Thai Charm restaurant.  Karen & I are members of the hotels Privileges club, so we have a stack of vouchers that were sent to us many months ago.  So we get 1000 baht off our bill.  The food was really good and I am ashamed to say I didn’t have my camera, so you will just have to take my word for it.

After dinner I have only one thing on my mind and that is sleep.  The others talk of having a swim, so we say our goodnights and that’s it for me for another day.
