So paying for breakfast this morning was funny! Andrew went to pay our 5.1 Euros for our coffee and croissants and the lady spotted he had a mitt of coins. So in disjointed English and Italian she asked him to put them down and then selected all the little coins she wanted out of our pile! She wanted 10, 20 and 50 cent pieces... pretty entertaining because we thought we hadn't paid the right amount!
Crazy weather – 35 degrees one moment to 15 degrees the next! It started raining as soon as we crossed over into Austria and Meghan isn’t even here to jinks us. The mountains, green fields, cute houses and pine trees are everything I imagined Austria to be.
Today’s destination was Innsbruck. We found a nice little cafe called the Kosterbar – most awesome chocolate milkshake, made with real ice-cream and so chocolaty.... and delicious Minestrone soup – perfect for a wet coolish day. We spent the afternoon walking around the old centre tasting strudel and looking at the Swarovski crystal exhibition whilst avoiding the big puddles and droplets of water.
There were some funny things for sale in the tourist shops you could get a t-shirt that had the kangaroo symbol and the wording "No kangaroos in Austria". After walking around in the rain to the stage our pants looked as though we had fallen in a pool we decided it was time to find a campground of the evening. In hindsight maybe camping in the rain wasn’t the brightest move. The rain did clear for about an hour, allowing us to get about half way on our walk before it started pissing down rain again.
With Austria the home of schnitzel we had to have one for dinner. Furthermore, with it raining there was no way I was self catering. The campground had a great restaurant that served delicious food. Andrew’s schnitzel came with this awesome warm potato salad that tasted like it had a bit of horseradish...
The campground had the most amazing facilities, there were hair dryers in the ladies bathrooms with their own seats – just like a hairdressing salon.

Hi, this funny t-shirts are a souvenier mostly purchased by asian tourists - and the question "Where are the kangaroos?" is often heard even here in Vienna
