This morning we are going to spend some more time at the Zwinger before we leave for Gorlitz.
We had a great walk around the top of the wall. In the midst of the walk, the Glockenspiel rang out with its 3-minute concert on its Meissen porcelain bells. That was a nice little treat.
Although I cannot wait to get to Gorlitz again, I have enjoyed Dresden. Since the desk clerk at Hotel Kipping took a picture of my passport when we checked in, he knew it was my birthday and gave me a bottle of Saxon Landwein when we checked out. That was unexpected and very thoughtful.
We took the train to Gorlitz and the tram to Demianiplatz which is very near Hotel Bon-Apart. Our room is on the 3rd floor - six flights of stairs - no elevator. Our room has a chandelier and a huge bathroom.
It's so nice to come to a place where you know your way around. I took Chris on a quick walk/tour of the upper and lower market areas. We walked across the Neisse River bridge and into Poland.
For dinner we went to Die Destille and had the Silesian specialty - Schlesisches Himmelreich - roast pork, potato dumplings, and dried fruit. Oh my goodness - it was so good.
